A beacon of technology innovation, ZTE Corporation held the 5G-Advanced Industry Development Summit in Beijing. This momentous event showcased ZTE’s new systemic framework known as “1+2+3”, and explored 5G-Advanced technology innovations and achievements.
At the summit, industry partners, including China Mobile, Qualcomm, and Sky Limit Entertainment, gathered to share insights and progress in the field of 5G-Advanced technology.
ZTE’s Vice President and General Manager of RAN products, Bai Yanmin, detailed ZTE’s progress in driving technology innovation and network evolution. He shared, “With the help of foundational technologies and artificial intelligence, 5G network performance and efficiency can be further enhanced and more and more new use cases can be further developed.” Yanmin highlighted ZTE’s recent achievements, which include an impressive 1.4 Gbps uplink throughput, end-to-end latency less than 4 ms by a single carrier, and dynamic RIS (Reconfigurable Intelligent Surface) beam coordination.
Ding Haiyu, Vice Dean of China Mobile Research Institute, delivered a keynote speech at the conference, emphasizing the role of 5G in facilitating the digital transformation of the economy and society. He discussed China Mobile’s commitment to building the world’s largest 5G quality network, and their drive towards nurturing industry ecosystems. He revealed, “China Mobile will also continue working with the partners to push infrastructure upgrade and collaborated industry innovation so as to create a more sustainable future with 5G-Advanced technologies.”
In a significant step towards the future, ZTE, Qualcomm, Beijing Sky Limit Entertainment, and China Mobile Research Institute signed an MOU to advance XR innovation and commercialization in the Metaverse. This collaboration aims to improve the efficient adaptation between wireless networks and business development, thereby promoting sustainable industry chain development.
The summit underscored the transformative power of 5G in heavy industries like coal mining and steelmaking. Representatives from China Huaneng Group, China Mining Information Technology Company, and Ansteel Group introduced their collaboration cases and achievements, demonstrating the pivotal role of 5G in the digital transformation of these sectors.
The event concluded with a round-table forum focusing on “5G-A-driven ecosystem development”, where industry leaders shared views on the expectations, progress, and objectives of 5G-Advanced technology, along with new opportunities and challenges in the Metaverse.
