Core Network Solutions. Finnish tech titan Nokia has recently unveiled their newest addition to the wireless landscape – optimized 4G and 5G Core Network software solutions designed to cater to the critical needs of enterprise verticals. Dubbed as the ‘Nokia Core Enterprise Solutions,’ these offerings aim to address the field and wide area network (FAN/WAN) needs of public safety and power utilities.

Addressing the Mission-Critical Needs of Enterprises

At the heart of the new Nokia Core Enterprise Solutions is the company’s commitment to delivering secure carrier-grade capabilities to enterprises, aiming to spur their journey towards digitizing network infrastructure and realizing significant gains in automation, productivity, and efficiency. Fran Heeran, SVP & General Manager of Core Networks, Cloud and Network Services at Nokia, remarked, “This exciting new evolution of our Core portfolio further enhances Nokia’s leading position in private wireless.”

The core network solutions are built on Nokia’s widely utilized Core products. “Nokia Core Enterprise Solutions will provide important catalysts for accelerating digital transformation for enterprises in public safety and power utilities. They will modernize large scale enterprise networks, as well as provide important broadband capabilities and a clear path to deploying private 5G for the WAN,” Heeran added.

A Glimpse into the Future: 4G and 5G Integration

With the global market for core networks solutions in the enterprise FAN/WAN private wireless communications space projected to increase by 50 percent and reach EUR 1.5 billion by 2027, Nokia is well-positioned to tap into this growing potential. The newly announced solutions are expected to be commercially available later this year, and they promise unified 4G and 5G data, voice, and subscriber/device management capabilities. This approach creates streamlined adoption paths across technology and application generations.

A Boost for Public Safety and Power Utilities

Nokia’s latest offerings are specifically tailored to the mission-critical network needs of public safety and power utilities. Ken Rehbehn, Principal Analyst at CritComm Insights, emphasized, “These organizations have a unique requirement for wide-area wireless operations across sweeping geography with secure, ubiquitous, and high-quality connectivity enabled by private 4G and 5G networks.”The solutions offer a highly optimized footprint and operational requirements, along with streamlined deployment and support. Moreover, they will introduce IoT in power utilities and utilize broadband-enhanced communication tools for public safety, indicating an impressive leap forward for these sectors. As a B2B technology innovation leader, Nokia continues to pioneer networks that sense, think, and act. The introduction of Nokia Core Enterprise Solutions reaffirms their commitment to drive digital transformation and create sustainable, reliable networks for the future.

As we step into a new era of private wireless and witness the harmonious integration of 4G and 5G technologies, we invite you to share your thoughts. Do you see these advancements as a game-changer for enterprise verticals? How might they influence the future of public safety and power utilities?
